coach Mark Morris:
Spring Valley Rugby Club played
in the Charlotte High School
Rugby Festival this past
weekend, March 8/9th.This was
Spring Valley's first ever
tournament competition.
Saturday , SV played a team from
West Mecklenberg High that has
had a rugby team for the past 5
years. SV played an
agressive game in the cold 40
degree weather and 30 mph winds
and came away with a solid 22-12
win.
Saturday second game was a close
one with Spring Valley losing in
the last minute 12-10 after
holding lead entire game against
UC Gold , a team from Cocorde
and Caberre High Schools.
Sunday's game was a physical
game against North Mecklenburg
High with Spring Valley winning
14-5 against some of the better
players in Charlotte area.
Spring Valley moved the ball
well with the pack and backline
against a tough defense.
Spring Valley did well in it's
first ever tournament play,
coming home 2-1 after playing
teams that have played in the
High School Rugby League for the
last 5 and 6 years.
